“How sharper than a serpent’s tooth it is to have a thankless child!”

Something that occurred to me as I was doing research for a much longer blog post:

What if George Bush Sr. was a tragic King Lear figure, driven to despair and madness after seeing the country he once ruled ruined by his son? What if he had become so outraged at his son’s disrespect and boorishness that he had run against him in the 2004 election, seeking a long-delayed second term?

And what if he had won?

I feel this would be a much more interesting, and possibly better, universe than we live in.

I didn’t go with this because I imagine it would be too long; the screenwriting class is for short films. It’s also why I didn’t do the Pie movie. Instead, I ended up pitching that ghost film I mentioned to you awhile ago.

Also, this has nothing to do with this, but there is a British tech Genius, last name Way, who has a company called WAR, which stands for Weapons Against Robotics. He is arming humanity for the eventual battle for our freedom and lives against the robot threat. He should be knighted, but the robot friendly queen can’t get off her royal hiney to acknowledge this great man. Apparently he’s about four years ahead of any military or government designs as well. I really like this guy.

This seems like the kind of thing that shouldn’t exist. When I went to the website, it looked like an elaborate ARG. But he actually seems to be legit. I’m not sure how to react to that.

“Alternative Reality Game”. It’s when people make a bunch of fake websites and stuff where people can find clues and solve puzzles. They did it with “The Dark Knight”, which had campaign websites for Harvey Dent and one for the Gotham Times.

You should write that book as one of those Alternate History books. Apparently they’re popular.
